TGIF…Thank goodness it’s FRIDAY!

Yay! Thank goodness it’s FRIDAY! At Reese’s school, this week was Red Ribbon Week. Anyone remember it? I feel like it should be called “make your mama crazy week”. If you don’t know what Red Ribbon Week is, it’s a week of the school year that aims to educate our youth about the negative effects of drugs and to promote a drug-free lifestyle. So, the students are sent home with a list of different, crazy things to wear to school each day of that week. At first thought…this sounds fun! Yes, it does sound like so much fun! Until your six year old, very strong-willed, daughter has a problem with almost every idea you come up with. Even getting ready for mismatched day was an ordeal.🙄

So…here was our daily themes for the week:

Monday ~ Team Up Against Drugs (wear a team shirt)
Tuesday ~ These Paws Don’t Touch Drugs (bring a stuffed animal)
Wednesday ~ Don’t Let Drugs Mix You Up (wear mismatched clothes)
Thursday ~ Follow Your Dreams – Don’t Do Drugs (wear pajamas)
Friday ~ I’m Red-y To Live a Drug Free Life (wear red)

Monday was a breeze! Well, only after spending 20 minutes convincing her that the Texas A&M University jersey is a cool team shirt, even though it is just maroon and white. Yep, we had to convince her that she should be proud to wear that shirt since it’s representing her mom’s and dad’s school. 🙂 She finally agreed that it was cool and wore it proud!

Tuesday was the best! Reese couldn’t decide which stuffed animal she would be bringing to school, so she decided to sleep with her two choices and then decide in the morning which one she’d take. She chose a super cute little white puppy. DONE. That was easy!

Wednesday. Was. The. Worst. You’d think it would be the easiest because she could literally wear whatever and it would be fine. But…because the weather turned unexpectedly cold, we had to scramble to find leggings with the skirt that she just had to wear. I guess I’ve trained her too well to match her outfits because it was the hardest thing to get her to be okay with not matching! LOL. In the end it turned out okay…and she looked cute even with mismatched bows. 🙂

Thursday was pretty great, I will say. It was pajama day. 🙂 After spending about 20 min. trying to convince her that she should wear her pajama pants set and not her princess night gown, she finally agreed. Thankfully.

Friday. TODAY. Why was I not prepared for red day??! I should have known better. Why was I surprised that she had no red to wear? Typical girly girl. She outgrew the red outfit she wore for last year’s red day…and that was the only real red she had. So…we had to make what we had work. Outfit of choice turned out to be a pinkish, reddish dress with a red bow and leggings. It worked. It would have to do. But at least she was good with it.

Now…I’m dreading the battle that fall/winter brings. All of a sudden, she doesn’t like her big, puffy, pink jacket. It’s so adorable and cute…but she doesn’t like all that bulk and it won’t fit in her backpack, and blah, blah, blah

I will say though that even though she’s so strong-willed, she’s also super sweet, lovable, and super cuddly. My sweet girl. 💕 She’s a good little girl that just knows what she wants…but when she gets an idea in her head…it’s so hard to change her mind. Hmmm…sounds like one of her brothers…🤔

    Hi Myta!

I’ve always thought that it’s fun to dress up a girl. My own mother surely had fun with me because she even puts on her own earrings on me when I was a little girl in elementary school, lol! My son goes to a school in a uniform but boys, in general, are easier to dress up. I just saw Reese in a witch costume and she’s just the cutest ever! My son and I went trick or treating at a mall yesterday. Not a good haul since the shops didn’t give away much candy but that saves his teeth a little bit. Next year, I’m going with him again and I’m going to wear a costume myself. I really need to have a little girl 😀

    Cheers!

Hope she had a great week of red ribbon week. I remember those days. She is so crazy but I love her. Hopefully for fall/winter it won’t be hard to by clothes for her! I’m suprised that Zach or Ryan would do the opposite like Reese does I would think that.

Ryan and I have so much in common lol. We both love soccer, video games, and we both have trouble having our voices be heard 😅…stage fright can be tough sometimes…

Reece sounds so adorable. In the UK, we don’t really have a week like this but now that I have heard about it I think it would be a really good thing to do. Not only does it help learn about the impact of drugs but it sounds lots of fun.

That week is going to stick with Reece when she grows up. As well I hope that like as you said ‘when she gets an idea in her head, it’s so hard to change her mind. Sounds like one of her brothers.’ I hope that says with Reece because when you have your heart set on something you should never change stay doing what you’re doing and be proud of it. I think that’s a message or young people need to know what actually is a message that everyone should know.

I really love this blog. Thank you for creating something so special. Hearing all the stories about Zach, Ryan and Reece and your husband and yourself reminds me of when I was younger. I’ve always thought about doing a blog but I was never up the idea of sharing my life. But ever since I’ve started reading this it’s change my mind.

Please share my love with you and your family. Hope you’re all having a great day, evening, whenever you’re reading this.

GREAT cause!. I’m very sensitive to the drugs subject myself, and I’m glad that children like Reese have the possibility to be involved in this. What a week, I smiled a lot reading your entry!. Reese looks awesome and very confident, the resemblance (with you) is uncanny though!. Oh and that heart pendant. ♥
Have a great week end. xx 🙂
