SIDE HUSTLE ANYONE?

So I want to talk today about something Josh brought up to me the other day.  As long as he’s known me (22 years), I’ve always looked for new businesses to start of ways to supplement my income.  It’s true, though.  He’s right.  I’ve always tried to look for better ways to make a living.  What do I mean by better?  Well, a way to get to do what I love, contribute to our household income, but also be home with my family! I went to school to become a child psychologist, but after I got married and we had kids, I knew that I wanted to spend more time at home with my kids and definitely wanted to spend the holidays and summers home with them too.  It was super important for me to have that family/work balance.  After staying home with Zach for almost 2 years, I became a certified teacher.  I was always lucky enough to work at my kids’ school which was exactly what I had wanted! Of course, the work grind was tough.  I was never content and always looked for different ways to earn extra income.  You know, like a side hustle.  My kids were active and involved and raising kids is expensive! So, I learned a lot about network marketing companies with all my research. I found that network marketing was the perfect way for me to own my own business while making an income with unlimited earning potential! Not to mention residual and passive income! That meant that I could work as much or as little as I wanted, while earning my own money, and working for myself.  That really intrigued me.  So, Josh always teases that I’ve done it all.  Heck I even almost started my own photography business and I actually got my CA real estate license! Yep…I’m a go getter and a dreamer.  I’m smart about it though.  I’m super realistic and do tons of research.  BTW…have you done the Enneagram test to see what personality you are?  Well…I’m a type 5: the investigator! Which means I research everything!  It’s true.  It’s kinda annoying actually.  #overthinker

WORK SMARTER

Did you know that according to a new study by Bankrate, more than half of Millenials are rocking a side hustle to bring in extra income?! Makes sense to me! I get it! Why wouldn’t you? But I will say I’m pretty selective.  My philosophy has always been that if I’m going to pour my time and energy into something I want there to be the potential to earn income that is both limitless in earning potential and passive in nature. Because of that, I have chosen to become a Rodan+Fields consultant! That allows me the time and freedom to work on my podcast, my blog, my real estate career (when I choose to start), but most importantly, it allows me the time with my family that I desperately crave.

So what do I mean about limitless earning potential and passive in nature? Okay so think about it for a second.  As an Uber driver, you’re capped at how much you can make because you’re limited by time. There are only 24 hours and so many miles you can drive in a given day. As a retail employee, you are limited by amount of hours in a shift and static pay wages.  Think of a side hustle, and most have this constraint issue. You can work your butt off but eventually, you become limited by the nature of the job with how long you can work which limits how much you can earn.  

One of my favorite things about being a Rodan+Fields Consultant is that your success (or failure) is 100% up to you and how hard you’re willing to work. The people who are most successful in this business are those who come in and treat it as such, A BUSINESS. I don’t know about you but I like the idea of controlling my own destiny.  I, along with my determination and work ethic am going to kill it! I’m going to be responsible for my own success.  And that feels good.

You do what you always do and share what you love about it with your friends! It’s that easy!
