Our favorite Jalapeño Ranch Dip

It’s football season and the perfect time to share with you how to make our favorite Jalapeño Ranch Dip – perfect for game days or whenever days! Of course, it’s perfect for any season but there’s something about tortilla chips and this dip that make the perfect game day snack. I want to acknowledge that this wasn’t my creation. This comes from a dupe recipe that I’ve tweaked just a bit to make it even better! See when we lived in Texas one of my family’s favorite restaurants was Chuy’s, one of the places we miss most! While we all had our own favorite dishes – Josh and Zach – the chicken flautas, Ryan – the enchiladas, Reese – the quesadillas, and me – the tacos, we all really went for the jalapeño ranch dip! It was TO DIE FOR.

There’s nothing quite like it in California, at least around The Valley, where we live. One day, we were talking about the restaurants we missed from back home and of course, Chuy’s came up! Have you ever been? Let me know if you have, I’d love to hear! Anyway, I decided that there had to be a way to have some of that dip – even if we were thousands of miles away! I checked online to see if they bottled up their dip and sold it online, but no luck. So, I was on a mission to recreate it! I found a similar recipe online but it wasn’t quite right, BUT made a few adjustments and then… nailed it! Not gonna lie, I was pretty proud of myself. So sad to get excited about a ranch dip, but I mean… it’s true, lol! I made extra dip and bottled it up.

It’s something I like to keep on hand for a quick snack, but for important game days or anytime we’re having people over… it’s a staple! That and our Texas queso (that’s for another blog post)!

Yeah, see, we’re foodies and we talk about food a lot haha! One day we just wanted a Sonic cherry limeade with their famous chili-cheese-tater-tots, so Zach and Ryan, on a whim, drove the hour plus drive to get some for us and bring it back. Worth it!

I posted my jalapeño ranch dip on my Instagram stories and received lots of messages asking for the recipe! I shared it out there, but thought I’d add it here so it would have somewhere permanent to live. Now it’s here – access it anytime! 🙂

Jalapeño Ranch Dip (Chuy’s dupe)

Ingredients:

1 cup of mayonnaise
1 cup of sour cream
5 tbsp of Ranch seasoning
2 tbsp of fresh lime juice
1/2 cup of jalapeno slices
1/2 cup of fresh cilantro
* I double these measurements every time – it makes enough for a small bowl plus a large jar to store in the fridge!

Directions: Add each ingredient into a blender or food processor and just blend away!

TIP: if you prefer it to have a kick to it or a little spice, spoon in some of the jalapeño juice when adding the jalapeños. If you don’t want it as spicy, leave the juice out! I always add a little juice because our family loves it with a little kick 🙂 You can always taste it and add more in as needed.

That’s it! Super easy! If you make it, please leave a comment and let me know! Would love to hear what you think 🙂

I’m so happy you’re back! I love your blog I always get excited to see you post it always makes me feel like I’m talking to you face to face 🙂 lol that’s so funny my mom says “to die for” it bugs my dad it’s so funny, I’ve never been anywhere but Wisconsin and back to my home state Minnesota I’ve always wanted to travel across the country my aunt and her husband used to live in Texas that’s awesome how you have a recipe that reminds you of home, I would like to try it but I’m not really into spicy foods since I have acid reflux spicy tears me up plus my nose runs when I have hot foods or drinks, if your ever in my hometown Stillwater Minnesota you should check out my favorite restaurants “Pho MN” it’s a really quiet and nice Asian restaurant the employees are really friendly my mom, twin sister Melissa and I love getting their steamed dumplings and their fruit drinks my favorite is strawberry and “Leo’s Grill and Malt Shop” i love getting their French fries, plain grilled chicken and their sweet potato tots there very small tots but delicious their sorbet is awesome (I can’t have dairy) raspberry lemonade ice tea is so good!

Thank you for the recipe I can’t wait to see more of your posts and maybe we can exchange recipes sometime 🙂 take care hope all is well I hope you’ll come to Minnesota someday.
